Paul Turner Gets Called Up To The Big Time.

By: Kylan W. Watson

The Philadelphia Eagles have finally had enough with their underperforming wide receiver core. Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach, Doug Pederson announced that preseason standout Paul Turner has finally been added to the active roster.  Turner has spent most of the season on the Eagles practice squad.

Turner really impressed The Eagles and their fans during the preseason, Turner had an impressive preseason. Turner caught 15 passes for 144 yards during the preseason. Turner was an undrafted free agent from Louisiana Tech University, during his time at Louisiana Tech; Turner caught 87 passes for 1,147 yards, and caught seven touchdown passes. Turner also runs an impressive 4.55 speed during the combine.

Turner will help a receiving core that is under performing outside of second year star Jordan Matthews. The Eagles receiving core is spectacular in one thing and that is dropping passes. That has been one of the biggest weaknesses with this team on the offensive side of the ball. Other than Matthews the Eagles do not have a reliable receiver who can catch the ball. Turner will hopefully help the Eagles and add a viable deep ball threat; that the Eagles have not had since Desean Jackson was released.

Turner is not DeSean Jackson, but he could be a very important player in the Eagles’ Offense, he has proven that he has what it takes to be given an opportunity to play for the Eagles during the second half of the 2016 NFL Season. The Eagles are 5-5 and are in last place in the NFC East. The Eagles have a must win game against the Packers on Monday, November 28th 2016 at 8:30 pm EST.

The Eagles need to win to keep their playoff hopes alive.  Turner will have a big stage on Monday Night Football to reintroduce himself to the NFL and its audience.
