The Philadelphia 76ers earned their fourth win of the season, by beating the Miami Heat last night. Once again the 76ers were led by rookie star Joel Embiid. Embiid was in his second high profile match up against, another star big man, Hassan Whiteside. Embiid got the better of the match-up as his Sixers squad beat the Heat 101-94.

Embiid scored 22 points; grabbed five rebounds, and blocked three shots. Embiid also got help from Guard Gerald Henderson who scored 19 points, grabbed three rebounds, and recorded two assists.  Jahlil Okafor also had a big game, as he was finally taken off of minutes restrictions, and was allowed to play a full game. Okafor scored 15 points and grabbed three rebounds.

The 76ers had gone 108 games without winning two consecutive games. That 108 game losing streak ended yesterday. Now the 76ers are three games out of eighth place in the Eastern Conference and Embiid is improving with every game, the Sixers are also continuing to get healthy.

Okafor was finally allowed to play a full game, Embiid will be taken off of his minutes restriction very soon, and number one pick Ben Simmons is expected to make his NBA debut in January.  With Simmons coming back expect him to add another threat to an explosive offense. He will also space the floor for Embiid and Jahlil Okafor to operate.

The 76ers will continue to gain strength throughout this NBA season. The 76ers are about two to three players away from being a contender in the Eastern Conference.
