The Philadelphia Eagles were riding high after beating the Washington Football team last week and clinching a playoff spot. They faced the Dallas Cowboys in their regular season finale. The Cowboys came into this game looking to get their offensive rhythm back, and they did that as they pummeled Philly 51-26.
Philly rested most of their starters today and were missing 10 starters thanks to the league’s Health and Safety protocols. They were able to score a touchdown on their opening drive and kept the game competitive against the Cowboys. However, Dallas was able to take full advantage of the undermanned Eagles mid-way through the second quarter. When the Eagles could not score on their last drive of the first half. Thanks to a shanked punt the Cowboys were able to get in scoring position and get a touchdown that would be the difference maker in this game.
The Cowboys were able to do whatever they wanted against the Eagles. They ran all over them and carved them up in the passing game as well. Dak Prescott had his first career five touchdown game and passed for 295 yards. Dallas was trying to get their offensive rhythm back as they head into the playoffs. For this game they were able to get it back, and if they play like they did tonight they may have a deep postseason run.
The Eagles will now try to get healthy as they prepare for their Wild Card weekend match-up next weekend. They will need to get some starters back out of COVID protocols and get that rushing attack working if they want to make a deep playoff run.
