Cavaliers vs. Warriors Game 7 Recap

It was a legacy defining night for the 2015-2016 Cleveland Cavaliers. As they became the first team in NBA history to come back from a three to one game deficit and win the NBA finals.

Cavaliers Star Lebron James was named the finals MVP his third finals MVP. It was well earned for Lebron as he scored 27 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and recorded 11 assists. His fourth triple-double in the finals. He only trails Magic Johnson who recorded six triple-doubles in the finals.

The road to victory was not easy for the Cavaliers as the defending champion Warriors did not go down without a fight. Led by star player, Draymond Green who scored 32 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, and recorded 9 assists. The Warriors led by seven points at half-time. The Warriors also hit their first five three-point shots. However, in the final four minutes of the game, the Warriors did not score a point and the game was tied 89-89 in the final two minutes.

Warriors Small Forward Andre Iguodala missed two crucial free-throws that would have put the Warriors up by two points. The Warriors also had a chance to go up by two points on a fast break play. Lebron James made a great defensive play to keep the game even.

With one minute left in the game Cavaliers Point Guard Kyrie Irving hit a three-point shot to put the Cavaliers up by three points. Then the Warriors missed a three-point shot and Lebron James was fouled. Lebron hit one out of his two free throws. Ultimately, that was the difference in the game. As the Cavaliers went on to win the game by four points. The final score was 93 to 89.

Lebron James became the first player in Finals and NBA history to lead both finals teams in points, blocks, rebounding, and assists. At the end of the game Lebron James fulfilled his promise and won a championship for Cleveland a city who has not won a championship in 52 years.
