Bookclipsed Sixers

The Philadelphia 76ers were riding high after beating the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night. They faced a strengthening Phoenix Suns squad that was looking to stop their momentum. The Suns used a fourth quarter explosion to beat Philly 114-104.

The Sixers jumped on the Phoenix Suns from the opening tip-off. They were able to hit their shots early in the game and before Phoenix could even settle in the Sixers had the lead. They were led by Joel Embiid who scored 37-points and grabbed 15-rebounds. The Suns could not do anything to stop him. He got whatever he wanted from the field and was a monster on the defensive end. His continued domination on both ends of the floor have propelled the Sixers to a top-2 seed in the loaded Eastern Conference.

Despite the offensive explosion from Embiid. The Suns weathered the storm and were able to battle back. Devin Booker led them, he scored 35-points and Philly had no answers for him. He could not be stopped, and it did not matter who the Sixers put on him. He made them pay for daring to give him any space to get a shot off. Booker single-handedly kept his team in the game and hit some clutch baskets at the end to help the Suns pull-away.

The Sixers will now prepare for the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night. They will need another balanced scoring night and some better free-throw shooting. If they want to keep-up with the Bucks high-powered offense. Additionally, they will need to improve their perimeter defensive effort. If they want to stop Giannis Antetokounmpo and get their 47th win of the season.
