The Philadelphia Eagles were looking to rebound after losing to the New York Giants last week. They faced a New York Jets team looking to finally get their first win against them in franchise history. Philly used an explosive passing attack to ground the Jets 30-18.
The Eagles were missing one of their biggest weapons Jalen Hurts who was placed on IR with an injured ankle. It was left to back-up Quarterback Gardner Minshew to lead the offensive unit. He looked very comfortable today as he passed for 242 yards, completed 20/25 passes , and completed two touchdown passes. He did not miss a pass until the third quarter. The offense was humming as they went very pass heavy and the Jets had no answers for it.
Philly played like the more desperate team. However, the Jets did give them some trouble as they were able to take full advantage of some defensive miscues . Zach Wilson carved the Eagles secondary up earlier in the game as he passed for two touchdowns and for 226 yards. Philly was able to put pressure on him and force him into an interception that would be the difference maker in this game.
The Eagles were able to get the win because they simply kept the ball away from the Jets. They took up most of the third quarter to score a late field goal. New York did not have enough time and when the Eagles needed it their run game came through to give the pivotal first downs.
Philly now will look to get healthy as they head into their bye week. They now are in play for the final Wildcard spot in the NFC playoff race. They now will have two weeks to prepare for their first of two match-ups with the Washington Football team. They will need to have another great performance in all phases of the game if they want to get their seventh win of the season.
