Saved Celtics

The Philadelphia 76ers were riding high after beating the Orlando Magic on Monday night. They faced a hungry Boston Celtics squad that was desperate for a win. During this game both teams were out of sync. However, the Celtics rode a late game offensive explosion to beat Philly 88-87.

The game did not start out well for Philly. They were missing a lot of shots that any another night would go through the net. Half-way through the first quarter they were down by 12-points. They were able to get back in the game thanks to guard Shake Milton. He scored 14 of his 16-points by half-time. He stabilized in otherwise shaky offensive performance by the 76ers.  He really kept Philly in this game that otherwise would have been a blowout otherwise.

Philly is clearly still recovering from their previous road trip and still working guys back in from recovering from covid. However, this game was winnable for both teams. The Celtics took this one from Philly. They got a strong fourth quarter performance from Jayson Tatum. He scored 26-points and hit some late game buckets to finish Philly off. The Sixers were able to keep him in check through out this game, but they could only keep a great player like him down for so long. At the end of the day he willed his team to a victory and Philly just had no answers for him.

Philly will need to shake this one off as they prepare to face the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night. They will need to find their offensive rhythm again if they want to keep up with the Hawks. Additionally, they will need to have a better showing on defense to keep the backcourt of the Hawks in check and get their 12th win of the season.
