Yesterday, the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Chicago Bulls, to win their sixth straight game by a score of 116-115. The Sixers have been playing perfect basketball on both sides of the ball. The 76ers have been surging lately, and if anyone is expecting an All-Star break hangover, they may want to change their prediction.
The 76ers currently have a 31-25 record and are the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference. If the 76ers continue to win games, they may be able to become a top-four seed in the East and make the playoffs for the first time in eight years.
The 76ers owe a lot of their success to Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. Both players were a huge factor in the win against the Bulls. Embiid scored 30 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and had 5 assists. Ben Simmons also had a big game. He scored 32 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and had 11 assists. Simmons continued his dominant rookie season.
Simmons and Embiid are helping the Sixers truly become a force in the East. Thanks to these two the 76ers have their highest win streak of the Brett Brown era.
The 76ers need to cut down on the turnovers and play consistently through out all four quarters. The 76ers have a turnover problem. They commit 17.3 turnovers per game, the most in the league. They cannot make a deep playoff run committing that many turnovers per game.
The 76ers also completed one of the best moves of the 2017-2018 NBA season so far by grabbing Marco Bellinelli from waivers. Now the Sixers have a shooter who can hit a consistent shot. The 76ers can be a huge threat in the East if they can cut down on the turnovers and hit the three-point shot consistently.
