After beating the Cleveland Browns last week, the Philadelphia Eagles travelled to North Jersey to face the New York Giants. The Eagles are still trying to find their offensive rhythm and finally found it against the Giants. As they dominated this game and beatdown New York 28-3.

The Eagles once again could not find their offensive rhythm early in this game and did not score a point in the first quarter. Extending their streak of not scoring any points throughout that period this season. In the second quarter though they finally found their rhythm through mixing in more running plays. Once that happened the flood gates opened for them. Saquon Barkley (17 rush attempts 176 yards and one touchdown) scored one touchdown in this contest and torched his former teammates throughout this contest. The Eagles rushed for 276 yards in this game and New York had no answers for what they were doing.

This season the Eagles offense has looked better when they mix in their run game and let that open up the big plays downfield. The game plan today called for more running plays than passing plays, but they need to find that balance for this offense to be dominant again like it was today.

Philly’s schedule has lightened up significantly and their upcoming opponents can be had through the running game. So, mixing that in more should open up opportunities for the passing game to come alive again.

On the offensive side it took the Eagles awhile to find their form, but on the defensive side they had it from the opening kickoff. Throughout this contest Daniel Jones could not take a step without seeing a green helmet in his backfield. Philly was able to put Jones on the ground five times (Eight sacks in total) in this game, the bye week seems to have helped the defensive unit find their form again. They have been trending in the right direction since the game against the New Orleans Saints and have continued to improve every week. While the Eagles were not able to force a turnover in this game, those will come if they continue to get as much pressure on the opposing quarterback as they did in today’s contest.

Philly’s defense has kept them in these games early in the contest until their offense finds their rhythm, and if they can keep dominating games like they did today. Then the Eagles will be a super bowl contender this season.

The Eagles will face the Cincinnati Bengals next week, they are another opponent that is struggling but is a dangerous team. Philly will need to pressure Joe Burrow and force him to make some mistakes. Doing that should help slow down their explosive offense and if the Eagles can continue to stay balanced on the offensive side. They should be able to beat the Bengals and get their fifth win of the season next week.
