A Fultz Plug

By: Kylan Watson

It has been a momentous week so far for the Philadelphia 76ers. The team clinched a playoff spot for the first time in six years, via an Indiana Pacers victory over the Miami Heat. Things went from good to better for the Sixers as they beat the Nuggets last night as well. The victory was even sweeter for the 76ers as they got  Markelle Fultz back. Fultz played a huge role in the Sixers 123-104 victory over the Nuggets.

The Sixers started the game very flat, despite 16 points from Joel Embiid in the first-half the Sixers were down by seven points. The Sixers woke up though in the second half of the game and shot 50.5 percent from the field as a team. This excellent field goal percentage allowed the Sixers to lead 85-75 heading into the fourth quarter.

They did not look back after using another big second half to secure a victory. The Sixers were led by Center Joel Embiid and forward Dario Saric, who both scored 20 points. Embiid grabbed 13 rebounds as well.  The player who was a spark plug for the Sixers was the returning Markelle Fultz who scored 10 points and had eight assists in 14 minutes of action.

Fultz did not look like a man who was having shoulder issues earlier in the season. He was able to hit some great-looking jump shots and was able to attack the rim if he needed to.  The addition of Fultz to a second unit that includes Marco Belinelli and Ersan Ilyasova, makes the Sixers even more well balanced than they were before Fultz came back.

The Sixers are already a dangerous team thanks to the deadly combo of Embiid and Simmons. If Markelle Fultz can come in and continue to perform like he did against the Nuggets. The Sixers will be a very dangerous team in the playoffs.
