Wentzwagon Derailed, But Not Out.

By: Kylan Watson

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a hard-fought victory against the Los Angeles Rams. However, the win came at a cost, as star quarterback Carson Wentz suffered an ACL tear while diving for a touchdown during a QB run. The Eagles were a team destined for immense success with Wentz as the core piece of a talented team.  Wentz’s teammates, fans, and media experts will have to wait until next year to see him in the playoffs.

Yesterday, Wentz released a video where he promised, he would come back stronger than ever and follow the plans God has for him.

Wentz was having a MVP caliber year, he currently is the league leader in touchdown passes with 33, completed 265 passes, had a 60.2% completion percentage, and gained 3,265 passing yards.  Wentz was having a stand out season and it all came to an end because of a torn ACL.

This will not derail the Eagles who have been a team that has been severely bitten by the injury bug. The Eagles lost star tackle Jason Peters to a torn ACL, running back Darren Sproles also lost due to a torn ACL, and special team specialist Chris Maragos with a knee injury.

The Eagles have been living by the next man up philosophy and the team still has been firing on all cylinders.

The Eagles philosophy of next man up should be familiar to a lot of Christians because it is reminiscent of the Christian saying “Be ye always ready.” This phrase comes from Matthew 24:44 which says, “So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”

Christians use this saying to say be prepared for anything because you never know when you might be called upon to do something for Christ.

Wentz’s injury will change the offensive game plan of the Eagles, but Nick Foles should be a capable replacement for Wentz. Now he may not have the athleticism of Wentz, but he was a very good quarterback for the Eagles in 2013.

Eagles fans should not worry about Wentz he has the determination and the will power to come back stronger than ever and he will be a talented player for the Eagles for a very long time.

  1. Hello ,

I saw your tweets about animals and thought I will check your website. I really like it!

I love pets! I have two beautiful thai cats called Tammy(female) and Yommo(male).
Yommo is 1 year older than Tommy. He is like a bigger brother for her. 🙂
I have even created an Instagram account for them ( https://www.instagram.com/tayo_home/ ) and probably soon they will have more followers than me (kinda funny).

I have subscribed to your newsletter. 🙂

Keep up the good work with your blog.

    Regards
